When it was a functioning building, its entrance was on Břetislavova Street, which used to be called Umrlčí (Death) Street because the plague allegedly wiped out all the local inhabitants here. While today this is an unusual street name, it probably has its roots in the fact that funeral processions used to pass by here on the way to a former cemetery near the Church of St. John in the old settlement of Obora, joined to Lesser Town in 1654
